St Gregory & St Patrick's Catholic Infant School

Class 2

We have been learning about Christingle. We learned about what each part of the orange represented and then we made one of our own.

We have all worked really hard this week making ourselves into Christmas elves for the Christmas fair!

Last week in Class 2 we were learning how to re-tell a Christmas story. We began by working in groups to make the characters masks and role play each part of the story, so that we would be familiar with the different parts. The next day we used our pictures from our role play to write a re-tell into our books.

This week we got a letter from Santa Clause! He told us that his greedy reindeer had eaten the end of his Rudolph story! Santa asked if we could try to write an alternative ending to the story Rudolph. We have tried really hard to do this. We have stories with Santas sleigh being stolen, Rudolph saving people from sharks and presents being stolen by aliens!

This week we have been looking back over what we have been learning about in our RE lessons. We have been learning about Advent and Christmas. We made cards and on the front we had to put different things that we remembered into each of the Advent boxes. We had things such as; Mary, Joseph, Jesus, donkeys, stars, advent wreaths, advent candles, angels and Christingle oranges. We had also used some words that we thought about when we talked about Advent and Christmas.
