We enjoyed created piggy bagels when we were learning about the Three Little Pigs, We practiced spreading the cheese, using our knives and chopping up different veg to make it the size and shape we needed for our faces.

Phunky 15 exercises HS                          Learning Objective : To observe the effects exercise has on our body.

We explored our heart beats and tested out the three different stethoscopes (one we made, plastic one and a real metal stethoscope) to see which one worked the best to hear our heartbeat after our Phunky 15 exercises. We then cooled down with some balancing.

Making guacamole                                                                            Learning Objective: To eat a healthy range of foodstuff and understand the need for variety.

Making healthy guacamole. We used one of the fruits (avocado) from Handa's basket as a main ingredient to make guacamole. We used our senses and physical skills to squash, mash, feel, smell and if we were feeling adventurous even taste it. We then compared the guacamole we made to one bought in a shop.

Learning about our heart

Learning objective: To talk about changes

We each created our own stethoscope using tubes and funnels, we then observed our heart beat before, during and after exercise.

For our Phunky food morning in Reception we all rotated and each class had an opportunity to working each classroom with different teachers. We have been talking about “A healthy plate.” In class 6 children discussed and tasted variety of fruit and veg. Class 5 talked about a healthy breakfast and made some porridge to taste with healthy toppings. In class 4 children talked about which types of food create a healthy plate and we sorted foods into different sections. We also created a healthy pudding, using fruit yogurt and crunchy biscuit topping. We all had lots of fun. Ask your child what they can remember about our day.

We enjoyed going around each class to carry out different activities linked to a healthy plate.
