Reception Home Learning

Reception learning is all about hands on, fun and practical activities, please try to make learning at home as enjoyable as possible, we have gathered lots of ideas for practical games you can play at home to support maths and reading.

Get inspired from some of our children's Home Learning!

Curriculum plans:

In Reception during Spring 1 we are working on  Phase 3, for this we teach several sounds each week: please use the ideas below to help your child learn to recognise, write and use the sounds. Each group are working on different sounds, your class teacher will be able to inform you of which  sounds your child is currently working on.

(some children may need to recap the final set of sounds from phase 2 too.)

Hello everyone, I hope you are all okay and staying safe.

As part of our home learning we have uploaded some PowerPoint presentations of recorded phonics lesson for you to use at home. To access these all you have to do is download the PowerPoint file, open the PowerPoint onto your computer. Once open you go across the tool bar at the top of the page to slide show and then select play from start, the PowerPoint will then begin. You do not have to click to move slides it will move along automatically as we go through each slide together.

Thank you, the Reception team.

The Reception team are keen to ensure your child has access to lots of different learning tools throughout this current situation. We have created plans that you can down load for the full term, which goes week by week, these are the same activities that your child would be participating in if they were in class, although some activities have been modified so that they can be carried out at home. If you are unable to carry out the activity that has been selected for that week simply choose a different activity for that area of learning. We appreciate it is difficult to teach at home with all of the distractions around and are keen to support this by making learning at home fun and hands on! We have created some clips of ourselves carrying out Phonics, English and Maths sessions so you can play these to your children as though they are participating in a session at school. We hope these are beneficial and support your understanding of how we teach in school. Please do not hesitate to contact us through Learning book if there is anything you are unable to access or are unsure of.
